 If you could view most interior designs of today you would see walls adorn with Old World Textures, Modern and Contemporary,

Interior Design Ideas.

I have been asked to write a little bit about faux finishing and give a little insight on what faux finishing and interior design ideas have in common.

As we all know Modern Interior Design Ideas hit the market in a furry. Although most people know about faux finishing and that it comes from an the Old World, Neo Classical,European history dating back thousands of years. It seems that most have a misunderstanding that it shouldn’t be used for modern interior design ideas.

I am not going to make this post on Interior Design Ideas a long drawn out explanation of what faux finishing is because most of you are already familiar faux finishing. I am just here to bring some insight into the advantages of using faux finishing for your interior designs ideas.

What this not about is a Saturday afternoon at the paint store learning about sponge painting.

Some of the most beautiful interior designs in the world incorporate some kind of decorative art and faux finishing to help pull together the homes decor

Problem is that most interior designers and others think that this type of decorative art is only for traditional interior designs of Europe?

Of course this isn’t true at all because faux finishing  can be used in all interior design ideas,  it just takes the right kind of decorative artist to work with when designing the interiors of today. There are literally hundreds of faux finishing techniques and I will list a few of them as I plod along in this category in hopes that it will help everyone who are here to learn a little bit more about how modern interior design ideas can work with faux finishing.

I think I will start with whats popular today and one of the finishes I have found is hand painted wallpapers which there are several different names that people are calling them these days like hand painted wall paper, wall coverings, torn paper and I will show a couple of samples here as I go.

These are very cool hand painted wall papers that would work for any interior design depending on the application method. This is some high quality stuff here which is fire rated so it can also be used commercially. The painted wall coverings are the designs of Michael Rogers for which there are a 75  colors available to choose from and the basic application methods are simple. What I want to know is how he got that Fender Strat to sit next to the sculpture.

Another sample is one I like also, and the beauty of using these wallpapers is that they are already pre made which saves on costs because I don’t have to spend the time on making them myself

Now of course there are many more samplings to choose from and I could go on and on about these little jewels but I just want to see where these gets us so far after all I am only a guest here and I don’t want to over do it on my first post here on
